Football Safety

Before either starting a practice or a match remember some basic checks.  Its easy to forget them , but you may regret it...

1) If playing/practicing in a public area (park etc) check the play area for foreign objects - glass, tin cans , dog pooh etc - and remove them - you can get you players to help by arranging them in a line and getting them to walk across the area and to call the coach if they see anything that shouldn't be there.

2) Shin pads

3) Football boots / training are properly tied up - will avoid tripping up over laces and also a shoe flying off and hitting somebody

4) Have a suitable first aid kit and somebody who is at least basically qualified

5) No sweet eating or gum chewing (choking hazard)

6) No sharp objects (keys etc) in pockets
